FEASIBILITY
Our experience as an Architect, Real Estate Broker, Developer, and General Contractor allows us to provide holistic feedback on a site to ensure it meets your development goals. We provide entitlement and zoning analysis to ensure your design is optimized for your goals. In parallel, we build a project schedule and estimate to support your decision making at the front end of a project.
DESIGN
Our design process is tailored to your project’s specific needs; you set the expectations, and we create a process that fulfills them. As a licensed architect in Washington, we offer comprehensive design services from initial concept through construction documents. We collaborate with your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure compliance with all codes and secure necessary permits. Our expertise spans single-family, multifamily, and small commercial construction, including new “Missing Middle” housing legislation (HB1110), and zoning, energy, and building codes for light-framed wood, metal, and heavy timber construction.
ESTIMATE
We intend to build everything we design. Cost estimates and project schedules are standard deliverables produced at each step of the way to ensure conformity with the project goals. An integrated Design Build approach engages ALL stakeholders required for project delivery rather than waiting until a design is complete to get construction feedback.
BUILD
We are a General Contractor focused on delivering YOUR project. Construction is not a one size fits all approach; each project is evaluated individually to determine the best labor, materials and construction methods for the job. Innovative and creative approaches such as supply chain efficiencies and optimal product selection to reduce waste are leveraged whenever possible.
WHO WE ARE
PLACES is an Architect, Real Estate Broker, and General Contractor founded by Nick Funaro. We started in 2017 as an Architect helping friends and family design and permit projects in the Greater PNW. Nick brings over 12 years of professional experience, including roles as VP of Design & Entitlements at Sustainable Living Innovations, an integrated design/build/develop company, and Sr. Design Manager at Tesla Supercharging. Our mission is straightforward: to design and build using top-tier processes and standards while fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders—clients, cities, subcontractors, vendors—to achieve the client’s project goals.
